Playing With MudBox

This is from my first experience using mud box to model organic shapes. To begin with i needed to play around with the program in order to gain an insight as to the various functions it possess.
Taking a simple shape such as a sphere i am able to manipulate the geometry creating varying textures or outright morphing the shape entirely.
Additionally i can freeze parts of the geometry to isolate them from any changes i make to the rest to rest of the shape, thus preserving their form.

Next i played around with the T-Rex preset template.
Mud Box models start off with few divisions by default which can be adjusted as you modify the model. Few subdivisions allows you to mold more of the shape while high levels are reserved for further detail.

Through this i am able to create more additions to my T-Rex.

As i increase the number of divisions i can begin adding more detail to the skin such as scales, scares or even horns.

When satisfied with the model i can paint it with any number of tools available.
